Cedar - Eastern White (Thuja occidentalis)
8-24” Bare Root Seedling
White cedar is a common conifer growing on a variety of cool, moist, nutrient rich sites across a broad range of northeastern and northcentral states.
It is valued for its ability to provide wildlife, especially birds and deer, with food and cover. Eastern white cedar is also useful as a soil stabilizer, tolerates being planted under walnut trees, and works well as a wind break, but this is preferred browse for deer so protect your seedlings!
Height: 40-60 ft
Soils: moist, but well-drained
Water: Drought tolerant
Light: Full sun to full shade
Wildlife: Nesting cover/nutrition/browse
