Oak - Bur (Quercus macrocarpa)

Bur oak is a large deciduous oak well-adapted to dry soils. Like all oaks, this species is considered a “masting species” meaning it produces some acorns every year, but every 3-5 years the tree will produce very large crops of acorns.
As a member of the white oak group, bur oak is less susceptible to oak wilt.
