Mockernut hickory is a member of the walnut family and a crucial part of native oak-hickory forest in the region. This tree will take 25 years to produce the first batch of nuts, but could produce for up to 200 years!

Soils: well-drained, but wide variety of soils
Water: intermediate drought tolerance
Light: Full sun-partial shade
Wildlife: The large nutritious nuts are edible for humans and wildlife.
